THE ASTRONOMICAL
3m DIAMETER DOME
The dome is made from polyester glass laminate up to 6 mm
in thickness,
providing full resistance to weather and ensuring high durability
and aesthetics at the same time. In addition, it is reinforced
by special convex profiles on the outside of the mazer and reinforcements
placed inside the observatory. The dome is made up of
7 basic
panels. The design is robust and facilitates transport and easy
assembly on site as well as on
taller or raised platforms. Dimension

Weather Proofing
The unique
construction of the shutter and dome side panels ensure that
rain and snow cannot leak in to the dome and water is able to
drain away from the observatory due to this design..
The gap between the base ring and the dome helps to
reduce heat build up in the dome. The one metre shutter
opening allows the use of telescopes up to
90cm diameter. The observation window is designed so that
the telescope has a clear view of the zenith. Rotation of
the dome is provided by 16 nylon rollers on a base track..
The driving system of the dome
comprises two silent low power
230Vmotors. One motor controls dome rotation,
the second allows you to open and close the shutter.
A special encoder mounted in a closed circuit within the dome
allows the dedicated driver (which constantly measures the location
of the dome) to ensure accurate tracking with the telescope and adjusts the motors
speed respective to the
position of the telescope..
